9 Days of Thanksgiving

We had a great visit from Nathan, Valerie and Elina the week of Thanksgiving.  (Meryl stayed home to study). We went to Boston, the coast, lots of bike rides and hikes, did some shopping, ate yummy traditional American holiday food (with a few French desserts), played games and guitar.
We rode the subway into downtown Boston and walked a few miles on the Freedom Trail to see historic buildings.

The churches and town halls are dwarfed by modern skyscrapers

Walking to the Old North Church in Boston

We toured the U.S.S. Constitution in the Boston Harbor

For Christmas Trevor wanted a guitar, so Nathan and Jonathan took him guitar shopping (he got a metal string acoustic Fender) and had fun jamming with his dad and uncle.

At a State Park along the harbor/coast near Rye, NH

Playing board games (Valerie is conquering Europe)

Feasting with Family.  They loved the stuffing!

We went to a Visitor Center and walked along Paul Revere's ride in Minute Man National Park at Lexington and Concord

One week after Nathan's family went home, we celebrated Jason's 19th Birthday with a Whoopie-Pie cake

The cleaning job didn't work out, so now he's working at a toy store in the mall

Visit from the Folks

After their Nauvoo temple mission ended, my parents came to visit--delayed one day due to Hurricane Sandy.
We spent a lovely day at the Boston temple and nearby Lexington and Concord (above Old North Bridge)
On Saturday the whole family went to the coast and an aquarium at Rye, NH

We went to a science museum in Manchester.  Dad liked the lego replica of the historic millyard.
A walk in the nearby conservation area (complete with ticks)
Trevor passed Drivers Training class (no license until he has more hours on the road). Jason's lawn job ended last week and now he's cleaning a medical facility at night.
